Regional Workshops 2010 - New Dates |
|
Posted by: Alexcj on Monday, May 17, 2010 - 02:08 PM |
CORE IMS offers one day CORE System familiarisation workshops in a range of central venues throughout the UK. These workshops, titled Using CORE for Professional and Service Development, are designed to help practitioners, supervisors, trainers and service managers to assess how the CORE System can contribute to their practice and service development. They also provide a useful refresher for newer staff of services already using CORE.
Using a mixture of trainer input and practical exercises the workshop is intended to help participants to introduce routine outcome measures into client work and use them collaboratively with clients. It shows how the wider contextual data captured by the CORE System can help to provide a quality framework for service provision, and how CORE software can provide quality evaluation and benchmarking data to assist outcomes monitoring and service development, as well as being used as part of reflective practice and practitioner CPD.
Please note that while these workshops provide a comprehensive introduction to the CORE System and methodology they are not designed to address detailed issues of implementation within services, for which CORE IMS provides both onsite and online training solutions.
The workshop venues and dates are as follows:
Belfast Tuesday 8th June 2010
Manchester Thursday 6th July 2010
Birmginham Tuesday 28th Sept 2010
London Tuesday 19th Oct 2010
Manchester Tuesday 30th Nov 2010

Using CORE for Professional and Service Development
Practitioners and service managers in every sector are increasingly being required to routinely measure the quality and effectiveness of the services they provide. The demands for transparency, accountability and quality from service funders and commissioners, as well as consumers, have never been greater. Even for independent practitioners, referrers are increasingly requiring use of outcome measures as a prerequisite for referral and payment.
Introducing routine audit and evaluation into practice and services, however, is a significant undertaking for practitioners and service managers, and one that many feel ill-equipped for.
Experience shows that CORE implementation preparation and training can often make the difference between successful service-wide engagement, and potentially dispiriting ambivalence and even hostility.
